Creating meaningful, Christ-centered relationships within our community. Connecting Point

Serve on Saturdays

Join on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month

Teams serve our community on Saturday mornings by distributing food and replenishing the clothing closet all with the intention of building relationships and creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who visits.

This short film explains what it’s like to serve at the Connecting Point.

Find a shopping list and shopping bag in the Cafe

Donate non-perishable food (canned meat, fruit, and snacks), toiletries, clothing, and paper products. A reusable GCR grocery bag and shopping list can be picked up in the Cafe by the Connecting Point donation box. Fill up the bag and bring it back to the donation box on Sunday or to the church office during our office hours (Monday-Thursday from 9:30 to 4:30).

Come with your community group to serve together

Each community group has the opportunity to “Adopt-a-Saturday” at the Connecting Point. Usually, this means that the group will prepare breakfast for our neighbors, play some games, provide some music or praise and worship, and share a devotional. This is a valuable part of what we do at the Connecting Point, as it becomes an add-on to our regular volunteer base that we already have serving.

If you have any questions or want to be a part of serving our community in any of these capacities, please reach out to Preston Burling: or fill out a Connection Card to get more information.

This summer our Lunch and Learn program served the children of our neighborhood every Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The 2019 summer program concluded as of early August.

The Connecting Point is located at 1216 Rivermont Avenue. We are open for our community from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month. Let someone know who is in need and come be a part of our serving team!
