GALA RESCHEDULED
Due to inclement weather, the Generations Gala was cancelled for the original date of December 9th. We have officially rescheduled the Generations Gala for December 17th and opened 25 additional seats for those that would like to register for the new date.
If you registered for the gala on the original date, please be attentive to checking your emails for updates on your ticket information.
At Gospel Community Church, we believe that generosity and joy belong together. We don’t give because we have to, we give because God was generous towards us. The Generations Gala exists to celebrate that reality and to call our church into a future marked by bold faith, radical generosity, and deep joy in what God is doing among us.
This isn’t just a fundraiser, it’s a family celebration. Like a wedding reception, the evening is meant to be beautiful, joyful, and full of hope. We’re coming together not just to look back on God’s faithfulness, but to look ahead and say, “We’re in. We want to be part of what God is doing next.”
The Apostle Paul described the Macedonian church this way:
“During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity… They begged us earnestly for the privilege of sharing in the ministry to the saints… They gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us by God’s will.”
2 Corinthians 8:2–5 (CSB)
This is the kind of generosity we long to be known for. The kind that flows from JOY, not guilt. The kind that springs up from a heart surrendered to God, not from external pressure. It’s the kind of giving that trusts the future of the church not to budgets and spreadsheets, but to the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.
The Generations Gala invites every giver (whether of time, treasure, or talent) to lean in and ask, “What could it look like to give ourselves first to the Lord, and then toward the next season of mission at GCC?”
We believe God is calling us to something bold, beautiful, and beyond what we can currently see, and this night is our chance to say yes together.

Fueling the Future
This year, we are prayerfully aiming to raise $150,000 through the Generations Gala to fund a set of initiatives that will propel GCC forward into a new season of gospel impact.
Every dollar given will go directly to the mission, not toward event costs, thanks to thoughtful planning and ticket pricing that covers the meal and venue. This means your generosity will immediately and tangibly impact the lives of people in our city, our church family, and around the world.
What are we investing in?
-
Target: $40,000
We want to be a church where every heart is moved by the gospel and every neighbor experiences the love of Jesus in tangible ways. GCC is uniquely positioned to meet real needs in our city through two key outreach efforts: Connecting Point and our partnership with R.S. Payne Elementary School. Located across the street from our Rivermont campus, Connecting Point provides meals, showers, laundry services, Bible studies, and spaces for relationship to our under-resourced neighbors, offering dignity, compassion, and gospel hope. Across town, our College Hill campus has become a trusted partner to R.Sglo. Payne Elementary, one of Lynchburg’s most under-resourced schools. Through consistent care for teachers, students, and staff, we are earning the right to be present and prayerful in a space of deep need. These fields are ripe, but they require more laborers and deeper investment. We aim to expand staffing, improve environments, and deepen our long-term commitment to loving our neighbors with both faithfulness and creativity.

Target: $40,000
To reach every household, we must intentionally disciple families, not just children, but parents and leaders too. We believe the spiritual formation of the next generation requires more than good intentions, it takes intentional investment in leaders, programs, and people. That’s why we’ve already stepped out in faith to hire a part-time staff member for Gospel Student Ministries (GSM), trusting that God would stir generosity to sustain and expand this essential role. This initiative allows us to build on that momentum by investing in the team and programming that form the backbone of our Family Ministries at both campuses. We want to create and support environments that disciple kids and students, equip volunteers, and walk alongside parents through forums, cohorts, retreats, and other learning communities, all with the shared goal of seeing families walk the way of Jesus together.
-
Target: $35,000
A thriving ministry needs more than strong programming, it needs spaces designed for spiritual formation. This initiative is focused specifically on improving and upgrading the physical environments where our Family Ministries take place. Over the past year, we’ve taken initial steps by installing security cameras and auto-locking doors to better protect children and students. Now we’re ready to go further: renovating classrooms, improving check-in areas, upgrading worn-out equipment, and transforming tired or outdated spaces into environments that are safe, welcoming, and intentionally crafted for the discipleship of the next generation. Thanks to a generous donor, the first $20,000 given to this initiative will be matched dollar for dollar.

Target: $35,000
GCC has always believed that the Great Commission begins at home, but it doesn’t stop there. We are committed to being a church that is locally rooted and globally engaged, that prays strategically, and gives sacrificially to support the work of the gospel around the world. Through our global partners, we are actively investing in church planting, leadership development, justice efforts, and frontline mission work in hard-to-reach places. This initiative will allow us to strengthen our support, remain faithful to our long-term commitments, and send a clear message to our partners: you are seen, you are supported, and you are not alone. By meeting this target, we can continue to be a faithful sending church, anticipating needs with joy, generosity, and in alignment with the heart of God.

“They gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us by God’s will.” — 2 Corinthians 8:5
At the heart of generosity is worship. The Macedonian church didn’t give because they had extra, they gave because they had given themselves fully to the Lord. Their joy in Christ overflowed into radical generosity, even in the midst of poverty and hardship.
That’s our prayer for the Generations Gala: not just to raise funds, but to raise faith. Not just to cover needs, but to cultivate joyful, surrendered hearts that say, “God, You’ve been generous to us, now let us respond likewise.”
