To Lynchburg and Beyond: Update on Global Missions

by Andrew Moroz

God is doing amazing things all around the world, and we get to be a part of it! Not only do we have our Fall Festival, our next local outreach event, coming on October 31, we have also been sharing several global updates on recent Sundays, and we wanted to continue sharing those stories. This month, we introduced an exciting project in Uganda, we’ve welcomed one of our families back from the mission field, and we hosted one of our partners from the field.

In Uganda we are coming alongside Pastor Geoff Nantatya and building a church on the land that we were able to purchase earlier this year. A local non-profit called H2O Life is partnering with us to build the physical building and drill a water well for the community. The work has already begun and, in the beginning of February 2020, we will be sending a team to finish and dedicate the church.

Eric and Amber Blais had an amazing year building God’s Kingdom in England. They were serving in a local church and traveling with their band Atlas Rhoads. God blessed them with lifelong friendships and allowed them to see people trust in Christ and grow in their faith. Now that they are back from the field, Eric will be starting a Ministry Residency with Gospel Community. He will be serving in a staff role as he continues to clarify God’s call on his life.

Last weekend it was fun to spend time with our friends Amber and Brennan Hopkins. They are using their careers to actively serve the Lord in Australia. Along with living and working in Fremantle, they are serving at Fremantle Church (a church plant) and engaging the artist community in their city; only 1% of the population in Perth knows Jesus, so pray for salvation there! You can watch an update video from their visit here!

This is just a small snapshot of what God is doing around the world through Gospel Community.

Please also be praying for our upcoming Peru Mission Team. From November 15-23, we are sending a group of medical professionals and support members to run clinics in Lima and outside of Iquitos. We trust that God will use our team to bring him glory and to bring people to himself!
